Description:
The Business Risk Assessment module of the Fundamentals of Credit Series is intended to walk the participants through all the aspects of the borrower’s operations, from its history, ownership and management, production facilities, material supply chain, storage warehousing, distribution network, target market, customer base and labor force. Each participant shall learn what questions to ask in order to get the answers necessary to determine the risks involved in the business and be able to cite mitigants, if any.
Objective:
By the end of this course, one will be able to:
- Understand the credit analysis framework and its components
- Identify and differentiate the legal counterparties and credit bases in analyzing a potential/existing borrowing account
- Possess the ability to discern the relevant operational information necessary in analyzing business risk

Module Name: Industry Risk Assessment
Description:
The Industry Risk Assessment module of the Fundamentals Of Credit Series is intended to teach the participants on the importance of understanding the operating environment of a borrower in the credit decision-making process. The participants are given some of the necessary tools – Broad Factors Analysis, SWOT Analysis and Porter’s Five Forces Analysis – in determining the market positioning of a borrower and thus foresee its future path.
Objective:
By the end of this course, one will be able to:
- Understand the credit analysis framework and its components
- Identify the economic cycle stage of an industry and its impact on the industry players
- Know the different tools used in industry analysis and its application, with the objective of assessing industry current status and prospects
